I am selling my beloved Subaru Outback 3.0 H6. The car feels and drives like a miracle and is absolutely sensational compared to modern cars with small engine and tons of driver’s assists. Ideal companion for someone living/working somewhere with bad roads, needing extra grip. I expect a family and am replacing it with 540i.
It is 21 year old and it is a Subaru, so it does have cosmetics and dents, but it drives like a charm. The engine is a flat six 3.0 with 245hp with 5 speed auto and FOX dual exhaust with ABE. The feared head gaskets have been done by 200k, including timing chain and tensioners, radiator, termostat, couple hoses and water pump.
It is a timeless design with frameless doors, 20cm ground clearance, but handling of a station wagon thanks to the low center of gravity.
The AWD is the best variant (apart from STIs), with 45:55 front:rear split and a limited slip torsen differential in the back. The car is neutral, predictable, low center of gravity and has an unbelievable amount of grip. I always knew my wife would be safe even during heavy rains.
Repairs and mods: CT done 03/2025 (no advisories).
2 din Sony radio with Apple Carplay/Android Auto, doors soundproofed with bitumen, head gaskets done in 2023 including timing chain, radiator, termostat, hoses, front control arms and steering links changed, anti roll bar links, wheel bearings rear right and rear left, solenoid and oil/filter change in transmission, oils changed in diffs 30k back, engine oil changed every 10k. New battery, front discs and pads in 2024, read pads in 2025
